Grades 5-6
Our FOCUS at the 5th and 6th grade levels is the value of teamwork and enhancing the player’s basketball knowledge and fundamental skills. Balancing competition is the priority in selecting teams. A maximum of two coaches may request to work together.
Teams typically have one practice and one game per week (space permitting). Playing time is shared during the games. Practices are typically held one night a week at the middle or high school gyms. We participate in league play with games scheduled on Saturdays. We also participate in tournaments held in neighboring communities on Saturdays. The number of tournaments is determined by the WMYBA budget. Schedules will be available either before or at the first practice.
